Planning for college

9th, 10th, 11th Grade

-Start to consider what school you are interested in attending (technical, public or private).
-Determine how much you will require in financial aid to meet your determined objective and utilize net priced calculators.
-Research scholarship opportunities
-Take advantage of all the the information on SCOIS

12th Grade Fall Semester

-Complete and submit scholarship applications.
-Gather financial information to prepare to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
-Complete your FAFSA Application as close to Oct. 1st as possible (early bird gets the worm)!
-Submit school specific applications

12th Grade Spring Semester

-Review and compare scholarship offers and packages to determine a best fit financial aid package no later than the tax deadline (April 15th).
-Complete required information for acceptance and enrollment in your college.
-Research loan options and complete applications if needed.
